Up close

Oh hello. I haven't been here in a while.
Here are some close ups of my writing over the year:

At home on a Friday night drawing uncharacteristically girly crockery.

Three media

I actually have time to use my 'three media' moleskine now that I'm on holidays. It's very exciting. Here are some pages that I just photographed. It's a mixture of drawings from today and old ones that I never got around to scanning.

So many things I should be doing

But instead I'm playing with my Wacom.

Loch Ness

Flying

A few days ago I took a t-shirt and my camera outside. I threw the former in the air and took photos with the latter. I do enjoy throwing things and photographing them. I think I might try this again. Because it is super fun and also I didn't work as well as I wanted here:

Today I burnt my finger on an oven glove. Not even on the oven. On the glove. It is quite an impressive burn. There is a very large blister and I can see the wrinkles from my knuckle in it. Very cool. And I also succeeded in making some excellent individual eggplant parmagianas.

I really should be doing work

But instead I am playing with photos of fruit. The black and white ones are photos I took last week. Fruit ones are from today.

That was fun.

Photos in the dark

Last night I took some photos in my room. It was dark. This be them:

Getting out the old Wacom

Tom took this photo of me and Simon at basketball last week. It was just asking to have speech bubbles added to it. Such a classic photo.

From my uni notebook

Here are some scribbles I drew in my notebook for uni this week. I drew these first two during a lecture. My lecturer is one of those people who says 'as it were' and 'as such' and rolls his 'r's. Fair enough. But in this lecture he said 'as such' at least once in every sentence. It was slowly driving me insane
For some reason we were looking at cigarette packaging and all the pictures of guts got me excited.
And recently I have just been realising how happy I am. Gosh that sounds lame. But I really am. I think it's being busy again. Being busy doing things that I enjoy. It's great. So I drew this in class:

BAM

There's a story behind this one. Check it out here, if you have some time on your hands.

I should be taking photos with a partner from uni...

... but she decided to drop the class. So I went on my own.

It is raining

The title of the post was 'It's raining outside' until I realised that it contained one unnecessary word and an equally unnecessary contraction. I dislike contractions. I like that way that sentences seem more deliberate without them. I figure if I need it, I may as well use the whole word. Obviously my time is not very valuable.

Anyway, back to inclement weather. I love it when it rains like this. Mercilessly. With hail and thunder and lightning. I was a bit upset when I sat myself down by the window and then my high-quality house decided to leak so I had to attend to the water gushing down the walls. So really, it was raining inside, too.

When the leaking had mostly subsided, I took some photos from my seat by the window.

Look at what I did this afternoon:

It was quite time consuming. But worth it.

Multiple exposures

I took these photos on Monday and forgot to put them up here. I worked out how to do multiple exposure or 'image overlay' on my camera and had a great time using it with photos of the little house slash shed in my backyard.
